Does 24 hr fitness have good trainers?

Q) I have a membership at 24 hr and am thinking about getting a trainer. I heard the trainers at 24 hr are not really helpful in reaching your full potential cause they want to keep you coming back to the trainers. I dont want to waste my money has anyone actually trained at 24 hr fitness?

A) 24HR fitness is a breeding ground for trainers. It's a hit or miss with the gyms. Think of it as the car salepeople of the trade. They want you to keep coming back so they leave you with a little something. I went for the 5 session pack and didn't do anything for me. They went over the proper use of the machines and what muscles the machines work on. So look for someone you can relate to and hopefully they'll be better than the majority.

Q) Ok, so I am thinking of joining the 24 hr fitness here because it is open all the time and has a basketball court. My school gym seems like it is closed half the time, and is shut down by 9 pm, and I usually work till 11 pm. Anyway, the one here is a 24 hr sport and has Basketball Court , Coin Collect Lockers , Group Cycling , Group X , Kids' Club , Pool , Pro Shop , Sauna , Se habla espanol , Solutions , Steam Room , Volleyball , Whirlpool. Most of that I wont even use, just want the basketball court and the weights. So, I was wondering if 24 hr fitness is a good gym and if it would be worth the $40 a month and the $100 start up fee.

A) That sounds like a pretty average price for such a gym. I think you could probably find something just as nice for cheaper, but it may not have the hours you need. Perhaps you should go in the morning if saving money is an issue.

How much does it cost to upgrade 24 hr fitness membership?

Q) I bought a 24 hr fitness membership back in August for $500/3 yrs and it included all clubs except super sports and above. Now the "Active" gym I regularly go to is closing down and they are replacing it with a "Super Sport" across the street. How much would it cost to upgrade to access to Super Sports? Thanks.

A) Probably a lot. Are they owned by the same company? How far is it to the next included club? Most likely what it would do is completely discontinue your membership and you'd have to sign up for a new membership at Super Sport. I'd try to get back my money back--that's crappy to close down right after that. It's probably easier--if it isn't too far--to go to the next nearest club.

Is my 24 HR fitness membership expensive?

Q) the guy charged me 100 for setup, 36.99 a month but he made me sign up for 99 dollar 5 sessions of personal training.. is this about right? please only if you are members of 24hr fitness to answer my question

A) you paid way too much , where i live they charge 50 bucks for a month it includes a trainer, sauna, tanning beds, chilcare and much more...... you should really look into something else you got ripped off

For 24 Hr Fitness, how old do you have to be to get a membership? 12?

Q) i think its 12 but i dont know i know my parents have to sign me up, but how old do i have to be to actually get a membership and go there?

A) every gym is differnet, but if your under 18 u will need a parent to sign for you

Like those 24-Hr Fitness commercials, what would your T-shirt say as to why you work out/lose weight?

A) That all depends on the staff honestly. I went to one in Omaha, staffed with very nice, helpful people. Then I transfered my membership here. They have the same machines, but I hate it because of the employees. They're snotty. And they really don't know what they're doing.

Has anyone ever tried turbo kickboxing at 24 hr fitness? What do you think about it?

A) I took a class once at a 24 hour Fitness while I was on vacation in Florida. These kinds of classes really vary according to the teacher. I do kickboxing as a hobby and so this class was much more aerobically oriented and geared towards giving people workouts (as opposed to a technique class where you concentrate on punching and kicking a person). Anyway, kickboxing is TONS of fun and a great workout. I would say that for your first time, just do what you can. Make sure you ask the teacher to correct your technique throughout the class because you don't want to hurt yourself. Let him or her know that this is your first time. Go slowly if you are confused. No one gets it right the first time. Have fun!!!
